Do you charge a separate fee for equipment delivery?

Nope. All of our pricing includes setup, takedown and delivery. We try to keep the pricing very simple and transparent.

What's your DJ style or specialty?

Our DJs are skilled in artistic music mixing and a professional “cheese-free” approach to announcements and microphone work. Many DJs think that it is their job to put on a show and be the center of attention at the reception.

We believe firmly that your wedding is your show, and we have no interest in taking the spotlight from you. Your dance floor will be packed, because your DJ played the right songs (at the right time)  from your request list and mixed them in just the right sequence – not because he chattered endlessly on the microphone.

I don’t want the music at my wedding to be traditional wedding music. Can you do that?

Most definitely! We’re not at all attached to tradition – we’re here to incorporate the music you request, and to mix it in a way that will create the kind of wedding you’ve envisioned. Somewhere along the line, the phrase “wedding DJ” became a bad word, synonymous with cheesiness. We couldn’t be any further from that image. We’ll help create a playlist based on your music preferences and will not play anything you don’t want.

Can you shorten, extend or edit songs? (like for the ceremony or first dance)

Absolutely, our specialists can customize any song or songs to suit your specific needs!

Are you insured?

Absolutely. We carry $1,000,000 liability insurance. You should always use a DJ that goes through the trouble of being insured for peace of mind both for yourself and the hosting venue.

Can we meet to discuss our music preferences?

We wouldn’t have it any other way!  In fact, we insist.  We always schedule a face-to-face personal consultation with you a few months out from your event to discuss the finer details such as timing, special requests and so on.

This meeting will include subsequent follow up two weeks out from your event to ensure no changes have occurred, if they have, no big deal!  Encore will make the necessary amendments to make sure we’re ready to go on the big day!

What are your prices?

We can tell you with absolute certainty that you get what you pay for in the mobile DJ industry.

A number of factors determine a DJ’s cost, including date & location of event, talent, experience, Emcee (Master of Ceremony)service, coordination, required equipment, music knowledge, mixing ability and personality. For literally a few hundred dollars, anyone can throw together some used gear and call themselves a professional DJ. As you gather more information, you may find that prices vary quite a bit from one DJ company to the next.

Rates for the DJ industry vary greatly, ranging from as little as $400 to $3,500 or more with an average 4-6 hour event around $1,200. The best price is not always the best deal, especially if you are planning a wedding. 

A full-service DJ company will normally invest 20-30 hours in your special event but it may appear that you are only paying for “4-6 hours”. Consultations, music purchasing, programming and editing, preparation, rehearsal, set-up and tear-down, education and other business-related endeavours add up to the overall success of your special occasion.

What are the terms of payment if I book your services?

A 25% deposit is due with your signed contract within 14 days of your initial consultation with your DJ. This contract reserves your date and guarantees the services of that specific DJ on your wedding day.
The remaining balance is collected on or before the night of your event. Encore accepts PayPal, Cheques and Cash for payment and deposits.

How involved are you in helping us to plan our music?

Just as you pay a caterer for his or her expertise in food, you are paying Encore Professional DJs in large part for our expertise in music. We are more than willing to provide you with plenty of suggestions based on your preferences, and we’re perfectly comfortable selecting most (or all) of the music if you aren’t interested in doing so.

Our extensive knowledge of music enables us to work with your requests and create a mood that reflects your tastes while creating a great atmosphere for all of your guests.
In addition, we specialize in addressing music “challenges,” whether combining multicultural musical styles or adapting unique or eclectic music tastes to the formality of a wedding.

We pride ourselves in being as prepared as possible for events we DJ and also making sure our clients are relaxed and worry free. We are always available to answer questions or assist you in choosing the songs that will reflect your vision of your special day.

Do you allow clients to choose their music?

YES. You may submit to me in advance a general “taste” of music that you would like played for your guests. We also accept songs to play or not play. Most of this will be discussed during our first consultation.
